Pacific Pocket Mouse
Perognathus longimembris pacificus
Thought to be extinct until 1993, a Pacific Pocket Mouse community was discovered. They live close to the ocean along the coast of Southern California. Many efforts continue to increase their numbers as only 150 are believed to be in existence. They are on the endangered list as established by the federally enforced Endangered Species Act of 1973.
The San Diego Zoo took part In conservation breeding and release of these little ones.
The smallest of pocket mice, they can stuff their cheeks with food, helping to distribute seeds in their environment.

10% of sales will go to the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN).
