The Rodrigues Flying Fox or Rodrigues Fruit Bat is a critically endangered bat native to the island of Rodrigues in Mauritius. Named as their face and coloring resemble foxes.
With some wingspans reaching close to 3 feet, these animals forage primarily at dawn and dusk for fruit.
Zoos across the world are working to increase population while educating the public about fruit bats. The flying fox and other fruit bats really do not use echo location.
